Have Fun, Cure Your Cabin Fever and Support the Heard Museum at Holiday Trail of Lights

Get out of the house (or car) and experience the most unique holiday light display in North Texas. On December 14, 20 & 21 from 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m,. see thousands of lights — many synchronized to holiday music — and holiday décor along a half mile Heard nature trail. This display is designed to enhance, not overpower, the Heard's pristine nature preserve.

Children and the young at heart will enjoy the opportunity to have a photo taken with Father Christmas and Mother Nature in a festive setting by the professionals at Clix Photography. Purchase hot beverages and specialty desserts (a portion of the concession sales also benefits the Heard).

Cure your cabin fever! Family-friendly entertainment will complement the holiday atmosphere. You'll be delighted by local musicians (including Crystal Yates, winner of the regional Texaco Country Showcase) performing live holiday music in the Heard outdoor amphitheater. Keep an eye out for strolling carolers as they walk through the museum and grounds.

Show your support Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary (a local private, nonprofit 289 acre nature preserve and museum) and have fun with family or friends at this holiday fundraiser. Tickets at the door are only $9 for adults & seniors and $6 for kids 3-12 (children 2 and under are free). Buy your tickets online at heardmuseum.org before the event and save $2 per ticket off the at-the-door price.

Holiday Trail of Lights is presented by Baylor Medical Center of McKinney and sponsored by 94.9 KLTY, NBC 5, and McKinney Community Development Corporation.  Hot beverages will be provided by Coffee N Cream. Photography services will be provided by Clix Photography. Lighting design is provided by Alfresco Living.

About Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary
The Heard was founded in 1967 by Bessie Heard. Miss Heard was 80 years old when she saw the need to preserve a place where future generations could experience nature. Today, the Heard's mission of bringing nature and people together is carried out through education, particularly of young people, which emphasizes an appreciation of nature and its conservation.  For more information, visit heardmuseum.org.
