McKinney, Texas – Need a little extra storage around your house?

Then clean out your closets and turn your unwanted stuff into cash during the McKinney Ladies Association’s community-wide Fall Yard Sale fundraiser on Sept. 20.

All proceeds of MLA’s semi-annual yard sales benefit college scholarships for the children of McKinney’s first responders. Taking part in the sale is a great way to recycle unneeded stuff while doing something great for community, says MLA Yard Sale Chairwoman Connie Hollstein-Drexel. During MLA’s spring yard sale, for example, the women’s service group raised $5,000 in scholarships.

MLA’s Fall Yard is set from 7 a.m. to noon rain or shine Saturday, Sept. 20 in the parking lot of Stonebridge United Methodist Church, 1800 S. Stonebridge Drive in McKinney. The public is welcome to attend.

Vendors: Register ASAP with MLA (the deadline is Sept. 15) to sell your items during the Fall 2014 Yard Sale. Visit www.mckinneyladies.org to download and complete the registration forms and read the vendor guidelines. Contact Hollstein-Drexel at cjhollstein@aol.com with any questions.

  • Vendor cost: $45 per vendor selling space (the size of a parking space); you may reserve more than one selling space
  • The forms and your payment must be received via mail by Sept. 15
  • Reservations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Spaces are limited, so early registration is recommended
  • Vendors may not sell their own concessions and they must remove all items and trash from their space at the end of the sale
  • The sale will occur rain or shine; no refunds
  • Shoppers: Make a $1 donation to enter the sale

MLA’s community-wide yard sales always draw hundreds of shoppers from throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Items for sale on Sept. 20 are expected to include great bargains on children’s clothing, adults’ clothing, jeans and coats for the entire family, toys, furniture, household items, strollers, bikes, yard equipment, and much more.

Shoppers are asked to make a $1 donation to enter the sale and take part in the great bargain hunt.

Hollstein-Drexel also reminds vendors (and shoppers!) to bring plenty of $1 bills as well as water to drink during the event. Barbecue concessions will be for sale – but get there early because it goes quickly!
