43rd Annual Chi Omega Christmas Market Announces New Virtual Format To Raise Funds For Nonprofits

One of Dallas’ most beloved holiday traditions to kick-off the shopping season, the Chi Omega Christmas Market, is proud to announce a new, virtual format. The new, virtual Market will allow shoppers the ability to participate in the longstanding, 43-year tradition of the Chi Omega Christmas from the safety of their own homes, shopping from a curated gift guide, and give back to some of North Texas’ most deserving beneficiaries whose work has not halted during these unprecedented times. The “12 Days of Chi Omega Christmas Virtual Market” is scheduled to take place Nov. 10 - 21, 2020.

Co-chaired by mother-daughter team Jana Beth Eidson, Taylor Eidson Wood and Savannah Eidson Near, the 2020 Chi Omega Christmas Market will be held virtually using a custom gift guide that will highlight merchants from across the country offering a variety of different items. The team elected to pivot the Market to a virtual format, rather than cancel the event, in an effort to raise much needed funds for some of North Texas’ most deserving nonprofits, as well as provide an opportunity for small business merchants to thrive during these trying times. The show must go on.

To receive the 2020 Chi Omega Christmas Virtual Market gift guide, please visit www.chiomegaxmas.org and complete the “Contact Us” form. The Market will continue the tradition of First Call for Patrons, as shoppers who make a donation will have the ability to shop the Market a full day prior to the event’s start on Nov. 9, 2020.

“A virtual Chi Omega Christmas Market allows us to bring a new experience to shoppers this year, while continuing the rich tradition of spreading holiday cheer and raising critically important funds for this year’s amazing beneficiaries - the true meaning for the Market,” said Jana Beth Eidson, Chi Omega Christmas Market 2020 Co-Chair. “We’re extremely thankful to everyone for their continued support of the Chi Omega Christmas Market in these unusual times.”

In its 42-year history, Chi Omega Christmas Market has supported 120 different local North Texas agencies and donated more than $9 million dollars. Beneficiaries of the 2020 Market include: Bridge Breast Network, Braswell Child Development Center, CitySquare, DME Exchange of Dallas, Family Gateway, Grant Halliburton Foundation, Make-A-Wish of North Texas, Mi Escuelita Preschool, Mommies In Need, New Friends New Life, Our Friends Place, PediPlace, Scottish Rite Hospital for Children and The Senior Source. Shoppers can also make a donation to the Market for these 2020 beneficiaries.

Chi Omega has a long tradition of helping those in need, as the Chi Omega Christmas Market is one of Dallas’ longest standing, most iconic holiday traditions. The first Chi Omega Christmas Market started in 1978 at the NorthPark Inn with fewer than 50 merchant booths and raised $13,150 for the Dallas community.

Shoppers are also encouraged to visit www.chiomegaxmas.org and the Market’s social channels for more information, including details about the highlighted merchants and hand-picked items that will be showcased during the 12 Days of Chi Omega Christmas Virtual Market. Plans are also already in process for the 44th Chi Omega Christmas Market on Nov. 17-20, 2021.
