As the leader in connecting volunteers with nonprofit service opportunities for the past 50 years, VolunteerNow© announces a daily challenge to celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Week. There is not a better time to bring people together, in-person and virtually, to serve the greater community.

From April 18-24, the daily goal is for 50 new people to create a profile on VOLY.org©, the web-based volunteer recruiting, management, and reporting platform for the K-12 school market, municipalities, and nonprofits. This challenge kicks-off VolunteerNow’s long-term goal of 1M volunteers in the next five years.

VolunteerNow identifies areas with the most need and provides support to nonprofits who might not originally thrive without volunteers to help them further their mission. With its proprietary software, VOLY.org, VolunteerNow is able to nimbly connect volunteers with local service opportunities.

“Volunteers play an essential role in the outreach and support that The Senior Source provides our community’s older adults and their families," said Kristin Dupont, director of marketing and communications, The Senior Source.  “VolunteerNow’s innovative volunteer recruiting platform, VOLY.org, has helped us successfully recruit and activate dependable volunteers, including the wonderful groups and individuals who spend their time engaging with seniors in nursing homes, many of whom, without these volunteers, would never receive visitors.”

Celebrate the country slowing opening back up by connecting with people through impactful service. As more service opportunities open, VOLY.org is the best way to discover the greatest need and fill service gaps in your community. With opportunities in education, health, hunger, homelessness, social services, animal welfare, the arts and other sectors, there are options for everyone to be involved with an inspiring nonprofit. Currently, the most urgent needs are for volunteers at the COVID-19 vaccine clinic in Fair Park, mentors for kids from 8ththrough 12thgrade, and food packers with small local food pantries in the DFW area. There are also over 40 virtual ways to volunteer. As an incentive, one lucky new volunteer on VOLY.org will be entered to win our daily prize.
