Windsong Ranch Receives Silver Award for Master Planned Community of the Year

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) National Sales and Marketing Council (NSMC) announced today that Windsong Ranch was named a Silver Award Winner for Master Planned Community of the Year.  The Nationals new home sales and marketing awards salute and honor the best in the building industry for their determination, integrity, creativity and endurance.

“It is quite an honor to be recognized on a national level,” said Craig Martin, Founding Partner of Terra Verde Group, the developer of Windsong Ranch.  “Windsong Ranch has exceeded all of our expectations and we are thrilled to be a finalist for the best master planned community in the country.”

Silver Award Winners are the top vote recipients in each category and are finalists for the Gold Award, which will be presented as part of the International Builders' Show awards ceremony on January 20th at Caesars Palace.  Windsong Ranch also received Silver Awards for Best Welcome Center and Best Signage.

"The Nationals are the most prestigious awards of their kind, setting the benchmark for innovations in new home design, marketing and sales," said Christy Beck, chairperson of the Nationals. "NAHB's commitment to recognizing originality, imagination and success has been exemplified by its award winners since the competition's inception."

Windsong Ranch was developed by Terra Verde Group.  The design team includes Good Fulton & Farrell as architect; TBG as Master Planners and Landscape Architect; Creative License International for sales office design; Anderson Hanson Blanton as the advertising agency and signage by Identitec.

Upon a projected 10- to 15-year build-out, the $1.2 billion Windsong Ranch, located 2.5 miles west of the Dallas North Tollway on Highway 380, will consist of 3,100 single-family residential lots; 250 acres of mixed-use development along U.S Highway 380; and 600 acres of open space with native preserves, trails and parks.  Homes in Phase One range from the mid-$200s to $500s.  Highland Homes, Drees Custom Homes and Darling Homes are open.  Model homes by builders Huntington Homes, David Weekley Homes and Chesmar Homes will be open Spring 2015.

The 2,030-acre development promotes a healthy, active lifestyle and a strong sense of community.  There are 600 acres of green space woven throughout the community that include parks, creeks, ponds and miles of hike and bike trails.  The Commons area is the heart of the neighborhood where residents enjoy fresh food cooked to order at the Windsong Café, an outdoor living room, resort-style pools with cabanas and grilling areas, an event lawn, amphitheater, state-of-the-art fitness center and kids play areas.  Future amenities will include tennis courts, a dog park and a championship disc golf course.

Started in 1982 as the Institute of Residential Marketing, The Nationals award program continues to recognize superior new home sales and marketing achievements.  With 57 categories across various disciplines of the new home industry, the awards honor excellence in product and community design, advertising, marketing and sales achievements by individuals and sales teams.

During a three-day judging process, a panel of seven industry professionals from across the country determined the Silver and Gold award winners from a field of over 1,300 entries.  The Nationals are co-sponsored by Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.
