Are You Interested in Robots? Join FLL in Plano!

Are you interested in FLL and under the age of 13? Then FIRST LEGO League (FLL) might just be the thing for you! You should join a team—they are located in many schools right here in Plano. I am part of a team and I love it.

In FLL, we code robots to accomplish missions like pushing levers and lifting up objects. But there is also an Innovation part. Based on a theme, we try to create and invent something to help solve a real-world problem.

Our Project: The Sea Rover This year’s theme is archaeology. My team created a robot called the Sea Rover. It is a sample robot that helps evacuate artifacts from the ocean. It has a detachable claw and a hub so it can travel through  small spaces without the main body.

The claw is special because:

• It uses soft robotics and sensors  to not exert too  much force on the objects.

• It is inspired by a seahorse tail.

• We use a seahorse tail and bionic bladed  to propel the robot   to ensure it is eco-friendly and energy efficient.

Another main part of FLL is the Core Values, such as Gracious Professionalism and Coopertition. It’s about being a pro and helping others even while you compete.
